Remy Gardner at the Red Bull Ajo Kalex – the Australian delivered his absolute masterpiece in the only country in which the language of his home country was previously spoken. The British Grand Prix is likely to have become a key race for the Australian.

Raul Fernandez falls hard – Remy Gardner wins over Marco Bezzecchi

It was the only race of the day at Silverstone in which the winner was not clear until the chequered flag fell. In other words, where the tension was kept from the first minute to the last. First and foremost, local hero Sam Lowes and rookie Raul Fernandez were not responsible for this, but the World Cup leader from Australia and Rossi protégé Bezzecchi. Remy Gardner drove like a world champion, which makes his father Wayne, the 500 cc champion from 1987, definitely proud of Honda. His toughest opponent from his own team, however, made a fatal and momentous mistake. With four laps to go, Raul Fernandez had a hard crash and thus lost important points in the battle with his future Tech 3 KTM MotoGP team-mate for the Moto2 title.

Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team Kalex) led his home race briefly at the beginning, but in the end it was barely enough for a podium, but at least he stayed in front of his numerous compatriots and saw the chequered flag.

Bezzecchi beaten – Navarro snatches the podium from Lowes’ nose
The Italian fought the Aussie like a lion and did everything to leave it behind. But in the end, Remy Gardner was the sovereign winner and Marco Bezzecchi had to console himself with the fact that he had significantly reduced the gap to Fernandez and World Cup rank 2. Sam Lowes was only just behind the leading duo for a long time. But the man from Lincoln lost a lot of ground in the end and was overtaken by Jorge Navarro on the fourth to last lap, with which the Spaniard inherited the Englishman’s podium. Behind Lowes, “Di Gia” was a good fifth ahead of Augusto Fernandez, Aaron Canet, Xavi Vierge and Ai Ogura. US boy Joe Roberts got only the fifth top ten result of the season after four zeros, while his compatriot Cameron Beaubier did not see the chequered flag. Tom Lüthi, who was retiring at the end of the season, finished eleventh and his former teammate Marcel Schrötter only ended up in 13th place after a long lap penalty.

The podium with from left Marco Bezzecchi (P2), winner Remy Gardner and third-placed Jorge Navarro – the result could be decisive for the world championship and the challengers of the Australian winner now have an even more difficult task in the fight for the title.

The combined calendar for MotoGP and WorldSBK

The last change concerned the second Misano race in October, following the cancellation of the Malaysia Grand Prix in Sepang published on August 19th. At the moment, all overseas races are still considered extremely endangered, which is why Texas in MotoGP and San Juan and Mandalika in WSBK remain extremely questionable.
