A few voices from the riders ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend

Fabio Quartararo: I feel great after such a great weekend in Portugal and before. The mood on my Steam is very good, but it still means nothing for the coming race. Despite my double victory last year, everything starts all over again. Last year we had a lot of up and down and at times I lost too much thought about it. It’s important to keep calm, and I’m trying to do better this season. It’s never easy, but I’m convinced that I can do better this season. Together with the feeling from my team, I am therefore very confident about the near future.”
Joan Mir:Last year was a difficult start to the season here. It’s a lot cooler this time, which could be an advantage for us. Either way, we try the best we can and the goal is clearly a podium. We’ve been doing well since Portimão after things didn’t go quite as planned in Losail. In any case, I am full of confidence about the Jerez weekend. It is now important to continue the good work done by Portugal and to continue working at this level here as well.”

Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo KTM Moto3) – the rookie aged 16 and some MotoGP stars were seriously asked by a journalist after 3 Grand Prix of the young man whether they would advise him to move up to MotoGP immediately. As a reminder: The premier class has a minimum age of 18 years. So this is just one example of the state of mind of some interviewers on such occasions and why Andrea Dovizioso says he would prefer to boycott them.

Franco Morbidelli: Portimao was great to finally be back at the front. Here in Jerez we have a good feeling for the track, even if things didn’t go as well for me in both races last year for various reasons. Getting through difficult times is the story of my life. That always helps me a lot to get through situations like the bad start to the season.

Francesco Bagnaia:I had to learn a lot, even in the first race at Losail and the start wasn’t easy. But after that it went better and better. In Portimão I had a lot of confidence and a lot went better and better. Of course, I always try to work on my driving style. It is always important to never stop and keep developing.
Marc Marquez:It was a very special weekend in Portugal, but I feel a lot more normal here than when I tried it the first time. I have more good memories on this route than just bad ones. “(The editors: This remark naturally referred to the fall last year, which caused a break that was far too long due to its consequences)” It is now also in context a much more normal feeling at the start of the weekend. On the track, which I know very well, of course, a lot will be very different.

The Jerez weekend – excitement guaranteed

Fortunately, after the weather forecast had improved significantly compared to a week ago, drivers and teams should face a mostly dry weekend. In the previous year, Marc Marquez was the fastest man on the track until his fall. But we have already learned something new in Portugal that a seventh place should be a sensation. We prefer to stick to results when reporting. Above all, when it comes to the weighting of performance, the rivalries should be basically the same for all drivers who, according to the race management, are fit. Nevertheless, many fans are already wondering whether Marc Marquez will mark the disabled again or this time concentrate purely on his performance. We hope it is the second and above all for him and all the drivers that there will be no more serious injuries like Jorge Martin’s in Portugal.
